When to visit

Every season has its own light out here.

Spring · March–AprilWildflowers across the Hill Country and mild evenings — the oaks leaf out and the flamingos have company.
Summer · May–SeptemberPool days: the tanning ledge in the morning, the fire pit once the sun drops behind the ridge.
Harvest · August–SeptemberCrush season on the Texas Wine Trail, with tasting rooms a short drive from the gate.
Autumn · October–NovemberCooler mornings, gold light through the oaks, and some of the quietest weeks of the year.
Christmas · November–JanuaryFredericksburg leans all the way into Weihnachtszeit — Christmas Nights of Lights on Marktplatz through the season, and the Light the Night parade down Main Street on the first Friday of December.

Festival dates shift a little each year, so it's worth a look at the Fredericksburg event calendar before you lock in a weekend.
